Prologis 于 2003 年进入中国，是第一个将 A 类物流基础设施引进中国的企业。公司的 全球总部位于美国科罗拉多州的首府丹佛市。Prologis为在纽约证券交易所挂牌上市的公司，股票代码为PLD，公司为当时全球物流基础设施行业最大的公司。
安博于 2005 年进入中国，其全球总部位于美国加州的旧金山市。公司为纽约证交所上市公司，股票代码为AMB. 安博为当时全球物流基础设施行业第二大的公司。
2008 年秋季，由于受当时全球性金融危机的影响，迫于当时严重的财政压力同时必须在短时间内筹措资金还债，且当时 Prologis 在亚洲地区的业务还能维持在一个合理的水平上运营，Prologis 决定将其在华的全部资产和在日本的一半资产卖给了新加坡国有控股的GIC(Government Invested Company)公司。在该交易中，Prologis 同意收购方 GLP 公司可以继续使用 Prologis 的中文名字(普洛斯)，这也是目前导致相当一部分人对于 Prologis 和 GLP 关系，特别是安博中国与普洛斯关系不甚明了的主要原因
收购完成以后，新加坡国有的 GIC 公司联合了 Prologis 前任的首席执行官 Jeff Schwartz 先生和 Prologis 中国区的首席执行官梅志明先生组建了新的 GLP(Global Logistic Properties)公司，其中文名字即普洛斯。GLP 于 2010 年 10 月在新加坡证券交易所上市，公司只在中国和日本两个国家经营物流基础设施的业务。
2011 年的 6 月，Prologis 和安博(AMB)完成了合并，同时宣告世界上最大的物流基础设施行业公司(Prologis，安博)由此诞生。新公司的全球总部位于美国加州的旧金山市，公司全球的运营总部位于美国科罗拉多州的丹佛市。公司在全球 4 大洲 22 个国家经营约 5600万平米的物流基础设施。新公司的中国总部即安博中国则位于中国上海市。
将目前全球在物流基础设施行业排名第 2、3 和 4 名的企业所拥有的设施面积之和也不及 安博的一半，安博在全球的领先地位由此可见一斑。
Prologis (安博)Relationship with GLP (Global Logistic Properties 普洛斯)
Prologis entered China in 2003 and was the first company to bring Grade A Logistics Infrastructure to the market. Prologis’ Global Headquarters was located in Denver, Colorado, USA and traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker PLD. Prologis was the largest company in this asset class globally.
AMB entered China in 2005. AMB’s Global Headquarters was located in San Francisco, California, USA and traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker AMB. AMB was the second largest company in this asset class globally.
In the Fall of 2008, Prologis was under severe financial stress due to the Global Financial Crisis and had to raise cash quickly. The assets that they had in Asia were still trading at reasonable levels so Prologis sold approximately 50% of the assets that they had in Japan and all of the assets in China to GIC of Singapore. (During this sale, Prologis allowed GLP to retain the Chinese name of the company (普洛斯) and this is what now causes the majority of the confusion today regarding the difference between Prologis and GLP.)
GIC then formed, along with the previous CEO of Prologis Mr. Jeff Schwartz and the previous CEO of Prologis China Mr. Ming Mei, the company Global Logistic Properties and injected the assets from Japan and China. GLP went public on the Singapore Exchange in October of 2010. At that time GLP only had logistics infrastructure in 2 countries – Japan and China.
Prologis and AMB completed a merger in June of 2011 that formed the largest Logistics Infrastructure Company in the world. The Global Headquarters is located in San Francisco, California, USA and the Operations Headquarters is located in Denver, Colorado, USA. The Company operates on 4 Continents in 22 different Countries and has approximately 56 million square meters of properties globally.
If you added up the #2, 3 and 4 competitors, the combined number would not equal half of the square meters that Prologis had.
In summary, Prologis has nothing to do with GLP and is not affiliated with GLP in any way.
